When I remove the plug-in It seems to run very smoothly.

**** I don't know if this has any impact, but I've read several places that the Dongle's LED is supposed to change intensity as you change the channels Intensity. Mine does not do this. I re-flashed the chip and received the correct checksum: OA6F. Are there any other diagnostic tests I can do to check if the problem is in the dongle, and how to fix it?

Got it working finally, had a friend look at the solder joints. He touched up one or two that he said weren't bad, but he did just to make sure. And presto it worked! I'm sorry for time spent on such a small problem but I thank everybody sooooo much for their help.
