Ever have one of those days:)
« on: May 31, 2011, »
O.K.  So I going thru soldering withdrawals.  I received all my great toys in the wireless coop, but to save money in the coop, I only ordered electronics for 1-Tx/Rx and 1- Ex/Rx to save money, but I did order extra cases and PCB's knowing I would be needing them.
So last week I soldered my wireless gear and tested in record time.  I was looking for more to do.
I also have a couple of PCB's sitting around for SSR4's so I thought, Hey!  I will order the parts for them and solder them up.

I get on the DIY wiki, go to Mouser and poof I put in an order for 2 kits worth of parts!  Yippee!
I get my notice that the order was placed and I forget about it.

Next day I don't see any payments coming out of my account so I go look:(  I see that a resistor pack is on back order until August 2011:(

I jump to the wiki, find a substitute supplier and poof, get an order in for what I needed plus several extra in the hopes that I might be able to help out a DIYer in the future.

I go the Mouser order and ask them to remove the offending item from the list and ship the rest!  Hooray!

Yesterday I get an update, which suprised me since it was a holiday!  It says that they will ship as soon as they get all the components in.  I look thru the list and now the PIC's are on backorder until 3rd week in June... ARGH!!!

I just couldn't win...

But now I see that R.J. has my next Express on the way as of today!!!  Thank you R.J.
And I also see that we might see the SSC's ship this week also.

I am saved!  I will get to solder by the end of the week, and If everything works out correctly I will have new toys showing up for the next 3 or 4 weeks to work on !!!

I guess I can put off my sequencing for just another few weeks:)

One of Those days????

Sunday, day before memorial day, the wife and MIL decide to find a new deck for the Mother in law.
We stop, find what she want.....they can deliver it Memorial day in the am !
So now, I have to take daughter to march in parade, strip old lumber off deck (16X14) and then load and anchor new deck with hidden fastening system. Now I have 1/3 of nmy tools at work, 1/3 at a side job, and no real ambition to do a deck on less than 12 hrs. notice.

I decided to use a bisquit joiner to cut grooves for the hidden anchors.......

Well,
"Mr thumb, meet Mr. Bisquit joiner-blade."
" Mr. Joiner- blade meet Mr. phlanges. "
"Mr. Phlanges doesnt like Mr. Joiner-Blade, he's mean and hurts people.....
"Mr. thumb meets Dr. Frank and his merry band of 14 stitches and fingernail- stealing thiefs....."
Mr Thumb is not happy.
Mr. thumb is repaired to the best of what's left of him.
Mr thumb gets some groovey pain pills.....he is happy for  now........

to be continues after Mr. Thumb see Mr. Hand surgeon.....oh and after he finished grandma's deck !!!

But thanks to the honorable men and women of the US military, I'm free enough to complain about my little trials.....
I am humbled in your shadow.....Thank you !

Couldn't even have a cook out due to sudden meeting with Dr. Frank.
I know nothing......and I prove it DAILY!!!

Ima top of the world and just fell off the other side. I was doing my jingles and went to eat dinner and we had a small storm. Well it gets better. I left the puter on and I came back up to the puter rebooting. I lost all my vixen programs. I felt like I just got kicked by a bull. Now I gotta start all over. Can it get any worse?

Sure it can.  You could have lost your show the day before Thanksgiving.  The lesson of the hour is Back it up, Back it up, Back it up.  Save often while creating your show and back up the show files on another machine or a flash drive when the show is finished and probably after each sequencing sesssion.
