Short update:

Mudding/taping/sanding almost done.  It has been so humid the last few days that the drying is taking longer than planned.   Should be done with this stage on Monday.   But lookin' dang good already.   Amazing how fast something happens when you turn over something to those who know what the heck they are doing.

Still putting in plugs / switches but stairs will be my next biggy...  I do still have the risers from the what was there before so that should make it it much easier to do it right the first time.   Only a couple of the treads survived the disassembly process.    Will be replacing all with new oak treads.   End result should be much much better.

I just may eventually get this done.

Greetings,,,

Coming right along.  Have you chosen which shades of red and green to use on the walls?   ;)

Little bit of success to report..      Putting color onto the walls today.

Sorry Keith... I was over-ruled on the red/green wall......

Finally tested the switchery....
Blew out the dimmer on this circuit  (had the wrong 12/3 wire connected ....   but at least the on/off now works...

I still have one circuit with a short that I still have to trace down.

Another step towards the end....  paint is up...  just some touchups needed..    flooring almost all in...  ran out of daylight  and energy before getting the last pieces in the one room..   but almost there...

Time for one last update on this mini-project...

A few pics before the almost bare family room is taken over by a wedding party and then we move back in to enjoy the fruits of our labors...

A couple more small things to do here  (fireplace mantel, mount the tv, install some transition molding)   and one major  (lay tile in the bathroom)

But.   the room is almost ready to be all that it can be.   Most of the tools of destruction and torture have been put away  (it will take me a year to find everything again)  ..    and the wedding of our middle daughter is in the muddy back yard tomorrow ...    We'll be using a ton of christmas lights to hopefully turn the back yard into a dreamworld........   (if the rain ever stops) .

laters

Larry
(and very soon I'll be able to get back to doing what I want to do ........    lightsssssssssssssssssssssssssssss .... )

Wow Larry,

Very nice Mr. Moose!

Though its been a long time coming, looks like your very substantial efforts have been worth it.
