Since LightShow Pro is so different than other sequencing applications on the market, it can take some time to figure out how to do some tasks, sometimes even simple ones.  In this thread I am going to post tips and tricks on using LSP V2.

Setting up a simple DMX element using a Lynx Dongle.  Shows how to setup, test and enter a few basic effects:

Even though hundreds and hundreds of bugs were fixed thoughout LSP V2's development, it's still possible that you may run into a problem that was not uncovered during beta testing.  Want to know the secret to getting your issue resolved quickly?  It starts with properly reporting it.  Here is what I'd recommend doing if you run into a problem or have a feature request with LSP V2:

David -

will you please report as a BUG, if your isp blocks outbound port 25 except to their own mail server, you can not use the bug reporting tool.....

He needs to change it to a http post function to a secure script on his website or something, I can not post any bug/feature requests via the program

Most ISPs block outbound port 25 except for their own mail server to prevent outbound spam from their networks....

Thanks
Myk

Done - this has been reported as issue #389 for a switch from port 25 to HTTP post.

Thanks,
David

In case you have not already done so - I highly recommend watching two of the videos from LightShow Pro that provide an overview of new V2 features:

Glance at new features and functionality in the v2 version of LightShow Pro. including Advanced multipattern transitions, non-cliping video rotations, autonmous timings, pattern and effect transforms, active mouse mode, timing highlight layers !

•auto-blend feature in the rgb color selector.
•ctrl-select with any tool will fill the selected area.

If you have a specific area (not a specific setup) you'd like a how-to video created for, please feel free to post that request in this thread.

Thanks David,

I enjoyed what part of you classes on LSP I could make but I was not able to make all three and only part of two of them. You did an excellent job on them.

Hi David,

I would really like to see a video for those of us that are not using RGB everything, and still use LED or incan lighting mostly and how you can use the tools of LSP 2.0 to group controllers to a color and use the rgb tools.  i know david posted a video last year for that, but i would like to see an updated one with the new tools and features.

Could you also maybe do an old vs new video to show old users what has changed and what does what now?

Thanks

Josh
