It still has issues but the red light did come on.  Since I know this I saw another post on meters and reading the pins so that's my next step.

Got to thinking... And the smoke did pour out of my ears.

But the manual says to install USB Directly.. While I haven't given up, about to.

The USB Chipset comes on extended stems and there is an extension on it.  Am I supposed to remove this extra piece or install as is?  Just curious as I am about to retry and want to make sure I do NOTHING wrong.
