I would take 2 or 3 depending on what funds are left for the year - had to go another route when I didnt make it in the 1st coop.

I'm interested in knowing the protocol here... why is this coop not under ...

DiyLightAnimation » Store » Current Coop's

I wouldn't normally check out each group, and so I'd end up missing this and other coop offers.

Because THIS thread is not a COOP.  RJ just started the thread to get a feel of how many would be ordered if a COOP becomes available late this year.

Well see the problem is that we did not even hit 100 in this post so that would not hit the minimum order point I have for the led's now. Know in the past the post asking about a coop gets more listed orders than the coop when it gets posted and I would need 100 to even be able to order the parts. The good news is the leds dropped about $5 so that is a direct savings on when we do have enough for another coop.

RJ, if another coop will not be started any time soon, will circuit boards for the Aether II be available after the coop closes.

I'd be in for 2 as well.

the problem is that we did not even hit 100 in this post

I don't think this topic has (or gets?) the visibility that the Current Coops topic does.  The first filled up in 12 hrs?<--- probably because of subscriptions to that topic!  (it would be interesting to see how many people are subscribed Current Coops vs the other topics...)  Anyway, I doubt the interest was satisfied that quick.  Sure, not having them by Christmas might be a deal breaker for some, but I see the Aether2 as a year-around prop.

Maybe look at starting a coop under the premise that it has to reach the minimum in order to go forward?

I have notification set for COOP's.  That would be the reason I got in on the Aether II.  Actually, I missed it by one and someone was kind and gave me one of there Aether II.  It is very surprising to me there is not a bunch more interest.  I only add 1 to this thread, because I did not want to be a Aether Hog. I would really have a need and want for 2 more.  I would use them year round for general house lighting and even during certain holiday.  Just my thoughts.  I would love to see another coop anytime we can.

Thanks, Kevin
