Power question
« on: October 02, 2011, »
40 rectangle with 3 lights each is close to 120 single nodes as far as current draw..  I noticed that about 1/2 way down and more the light changes color slightly.  I assume it is that the closer to the end of a long string the voltage is lower?

My question is can you run spt2 wire from the beginning strings + and - to the beginning of the 2nd strings + and - to feed full voltage and current to the second string?  Just let the data line chain between the 2 sets?

In other words supply power to the beginning of both sets?  (using thicker wire then comes on the nodes)  I do not have enough controllers to have one on each set.

Or am I splitting hairs.  When I bench tested them I could see a difference but maybe after they and outside over a long run I will not see it?

You can inject power into the string anywhere you want, including the end.  Just make sure that you are injecting from the same supply.
If at first you don't succeed,
your not cut out for sky diving
