I would't be so quick to give it away. The Pickit 2 is much faster and more dependable than the Pickit 3. From what I have read, the Pickit 3 was designed as a multi-use unit. It was designed to both update the Pickit 2 and act as a low cost version of a multi-thousnd dollar programmer/ debugger that they also make. The problem is that although it may be a jack of many trades, it sadly is also the master of none. I have ordered a Pickit 3 for use with the Etherdongle. I also have a Pickit 2 and have no intension of getting rid of it. I actually intend to continue using the Pickit 2 for just everything that it can program which currently is everything but the Etherdongle.
