using LOR with dongle
« on: November 04, 2011, »
I have just started testing with a version 2 dongle and using LOR S3. it works kinda, you have to change the channel down one, and i have yet to get my MR 16 board to work, but this could be something on my end, still testing, just wondering if anyone has had success using the Lynx dongle with S3 and lynx equipment?

This is a known issue and has been discussed on the LOR forum.  I purchased an Enttec pro it works.  The Enttec open and LOR USB485 devices also work.  There is talk about possible support for RJ's adapter in the future from LOR but I highly doubt this season.

I have discovered an error in the LOR S3 DMX output, LOR is now aware of it and having the software programmers looking into it.

I did get a reply from LOR acknowledging this problem and other problems.

Yikes.  I'm planning on using the Enttec Pro this year instead of the iDMX.  I sure hope they get any problems fixed soon.

The
IDMX works fine. it is taking the LOR protocol and doing the conversion in the IDMX.  So you have a backup if they do not fix the DMX option in S3.

Yes I do have a backup and I planned it that way.  The problem is the cost to implement.
