Maximum Cat 5 cable length

Hi I need to know the maximum length of cable that you can use between the dongle and the express. I have about hundred feet from my pc to where I wanted to put the express I'm not sure if that is to far thanks in advance for any or all help.

RS-485, the signal transport for DMX, is effective up to 1200 meters, or 4000 feet, or three-quarters of a mile. Your dongle will laugh -- ha! -- at 100 feet.

Yea thats the only drawback of using wireless, wireless cant touch the range you can get with a hard wired system.

Thanks for the replies i wasn't sure how far you could go before you lost the signal.
