Wireless to Renard 24 newb
« on: November 09, 2011, »
I've read through Brian's post You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login and have the wires hooked in.

I get a power light on wireless and a flashing green on wireless but no blinky on the renard.

I took the stock renard DMX .asm and compiled it.

I suspect the problem is with the .hex on the PICs I programmed on the renard.

Does anyone have tips/example of a .asm that works for renard wireless?

Thanks.

Tthompson,
First question which Renard board are you hooking up, the settings are different depending on the board.

If you PM me and I could provide you with a link for a working hex file for your board.

I could also help you diagnose your problem further.

** edit oops, you said it was a Ren 24 in the title, I will send you a PM with a link.**

thank you.

I got the PM and will reprogram the PICs shortly.  I know wireless is working to another Lynx Express using the TX/RX and the EX/RX module.

Here's hoping it will just be the .hex file.

on a side note, I got my first smoke puff/fried board when I applied power to the HOT and TRANSFORMER inputs on the Renard board.   >:(  Loud POP and puff of smoke from the board.  Not a good sign.

Hopefully on the transformer is blown and lesson learned and I will have to make sure I don't do that again.

SUCCESS!!!

The problem that I had was that I pulled the RS485 chip from the right side which is the "OUTPUT" side.  I pulled both RS485 chips and only have the wireless connected to the "INPUT" side and all is well and works like a charm.

Thanks for the help.  I will work on creating the correct .HEX files to address each box now.
