xLights 2011c

xLights 2011c for Windows is now available for download from SourceForge:

It contains the following changes:
  • If you have changed the output order in Vixen, xLights now understands this and will play back the sequence correctly.
  • If you are using profiles in Vixen, you will now need to copy your .pro file to the xLights directory (this supports the change above).
  • There was a bug in LOR playback when using unit ids above 80. This is now fixed.
  • xLights now remembers the state of the "Run Schedule" check box.
  • There is now an EXEC command available when using scripts. This runs an operating system command. So if you want to write the name of the currently playing sequence to a text file, select Playlist > Custom Script from the xScheduler menu. Then you can do something like on line 225:

    220 PRINT "Playing:",ITEMNAME$(NextItem)
    225 EXEC "CMD /C ECHO " + ITEMNAME$(NextItem) + " >c:\nowplaying.txt"
    230 PLAYITEM NextItem

  • When defining your lighting networks, you can now choose a port called "NotConnected". This will allow you to test xScheduler functionality without actually having your dongles connected to your PC.

Thanks for your hard work.  I sure like the light test feature.  It's the only tool I found that "just works" when testing DMX controllers like the LE.  Easy and does the job.

Matt nice work.

Have a question is there an easy way to duplicate a song in the playlist?  I have an annoucement that I play throughout the sets in Vixen, but I cant seem how to easily (without making duplicates of the sequence file itself) to add more that one of the same item in the playlist.

Thanks in advance,

JS

Making copies of the sequence file is the best way to do this.  The only other way is to create a custom script.

Sorry, but xLights does not display the previews in Vixen or LOR sequences.

Matt -

I also want to thank you for taking your time to release xLights.  While I only use it for testing, it is a real swiss army knife for those with "odd" network configurations.

Thanks!

I agree if it was not for X-Lights I would not have my LedTricks II sign in my show this year.
