I've tried 40 Watt High Power Led its RGB + white. So it makes about 10 watt per channel, mosfets don't even get warm. Make sure to check Max forward voltage. On mine I had to use some resistors, and heatsink too. (On LED itself)

Those are 20amp MOSFETs. The circuit board traces will burnout first.

From the assembly manual

Quote
Make sure to only feed the board from a regulated 12 volt DC power supply. Make sure the supply has the current capacity to handle the lights you are controlling. I am using Wirekats 32 led MR16 and they draw about .17 amps per lamp. Plan accordingly to your use.

Do not attempt to control more than 2.5 amps per channel from the MR16 controller. This is about 15 of the MR16s I am using per channel. I also recommend you keep the total controller current under 35 amps if possible.

2.5 amps @ 12 volts = 30 watts/channel. Your 40 watt LED is 4 channels at close to 10 watts each...
No problems there.

So i am well in the range with just a 1 watt led i was looking at. I am trying to put together a 8x8 matrix grid.
