does xLights support iDMX?
« on: November 26, 2011, »
I have 5 LOR controllers running from the LOR dongle. The 5th controller output is to the LOR iDMX to 7 LE's.
I also have a lynx dongle flashed with pixelnet to a hub and 8 rigid strips.

LOR software works flawlessly, but does not support pixelnet directly. I've created 90 RGB channels in LOR and can get them to work using Aux A and xLights.

But several channels on my LE's do not function properly. Lights don't come on or are out of sync.

The sequence plays perfectly (less pixelnet out) in LOR sequencer and LOR Show.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
80 Channels LOR, 112 Channels Lynx Express
16 Channels MR16 with 5 Mighty Mini's
2 SmartString HUBs
LedTriks
5,000 LEDs lights, 50,000 incandescent lights, 3,600 RGBs
30 Strobes
15 Snow Lights

I saw my show work for the first tonight using a setup very simular to yours. I use a iDMX for my 2 Lynx boxes and I have pixelnet running -working.
A couple of items that i stumbled with. When defining lighting network, have LOR as the #1 network type and pixelnet as the #2 type in order.
Also, make sure in lor sequense channel mapping that you toggle for multi -network.
I am no expert, I stumbled along until I got it working.
Also updated to xLights c. Can't saw I saw a improvement but the not connected was nice to trouble shoot with.
I set the iDMX start at controller 20. I had 3 Aethers and 2 LE and the all worked great.

Instead of using the iDMX, why not connect the LE's to the DMX output on the pixelnet hub?

I like to see the results of my transition mods as I go. I don't know how to get LOR to recognize the LEs if they are on the Pixelnet HUB DMX out.

I might have to research how to convert everything to DMX now that LOR supports it. That would cut the iDMX out completely.
