MR 16 CAT 5 Wiring Question
« on: December 15, 2011, »
When wiring the CAT 5 cable to the MR16 to control the lights do you use quick disconnect ends or do you solder the CAT 5 direct to the output channels? These will be running RGB flex strips.

I used the RJ45 pigtails I got from RJ used with the SSC - cut-off the male end and solder the quik connect lugs onto the cat5 wires

I'm a big fan of RJ45 biscuit jacks ... (also called "biscuit boxes") ... in fact, I abandoned trying to build Cat5 cables with male connectors and now only build with biscuit boxes and short jumpers ...

You can find them for anywhere from $1 to $1.50 ... Google the phrase "rj45 biscuit jack" ...
