Pickit 3 question
« on: December 20, 2011, »
I want to update the firmware in my wireless(TX/RX) ver 2 and my Express receivers (EX/RX) ver2 to see if I can get rid of some channel flash.

I have a Pickit 3. What "Device" setting do I use? I don't see anything in the Wiki about what to set the "Device" too.

If I recall off the top of my head that field is referencing the chip in the particular device you are using.  So you want to match that up with the part number of the chip in the particular device you want to flash.

It's not about more, it's about enough.

The device will be the number on the chip, it should be PIC24FJ32GA002.

Also, if you are using the J1SYS adapters it will be group W for the jumpers on the ICSP 28 board.

I hope this helps.

I have been pulling my hair out trying to figure out what they were talking about.

I did not think about the chip number. I set the "Device" to it and programmed the chip.

Thank all of you for your quick response.

FYI, the board and jumpers are only needed if you don't have the ICSP header to use -- that is the 6-pin connector found on a completed board -- all that I've seen except for the USB dongle have this available to use so that the PIC does not need to be pulled off the board to do the programming.
