I used to work for a company that had a close relationship with Linksys before they were bought out by Cisco.  most of my devices are still wireless G, and i've always liked the service with them...  you can call them, and they setup your router for whatever service you're using. plus if they have to replace your stuff, they overnight a new one to you, and even make sure you replace the power cord, "just in case"

I've had the older WRT54G in the past, and i couldn't get my hands on one anymore, so i found the model number with a "2" on the end to get something almost similar to it.

i'm running firmware 1.5.01

i'm sure there are newer ones out there that do more, but this one just did everything that were in MY needs.

Stupid question though. How will I know if it will support multicast. Will it say in the specs? For the ones that I have researched none say multicast anywhere. Or is it just a spec that I need to look for?

i felt like a dummy earlier, i was running vixen on the laptop and saw the lights flashing faster when i tried to connect to the eD.

when i hooked up a hub, and a smart string.. they didn't light up!

i disabled the cat5 netowrk adapter, and it started working....

i felt bad saying it worked for me, but felt a little better that it now does actually work for me

In LSP it knows what is available. For example with my wired on it gives me and option for multicast connection wired or wireless. With the wired off I do not have the wired option. Not sure with Xlights, I am just using the IP config settings.

the right now was so you didn't go out and buy a router in case it might have worked

I appreciate that. It will probably not be until this weekend for me to have time to get one.

i'm not plugging them, but if you get a Linksys router, you can call them, and they will tell you over the phone, how to disable the wireless on the actiontec, and use the Linksys.  they do all of that, which is why i do like them as a company.
