Kommet ihr hirten - techno / from dancing Christmas 2007 cd ... It's a German Christmas folksong, but this version is fast.  It's in German.

My favorite song was Lorie Line's "Carol of the Bells".  I've noticed that we're all quick to drift to the TSOs, Mannheims, and techno versions of songs.  (Not that it's a bad thing!  Techno sequences are very cool to watch and listen to - Taybrynn has some very cool 2-house sequences!)  However, there was something about the subtleties of this arrangement that I knew I had to include it in my show.

My favorite non-song element of my show was the radio bits between songs.  Granted, working in the radio industry I couldn't help myself and HAD to do it.  They were a lot of fun to put together using my g/f and her daughter's voices and get their input on how things should sound.  It also helps having access to production music and sound efx, but I digress.

Admittedly, when I come home at night, I stay in the car to listen, watch, and try to figure out how to make it better next season.  I guess I'm my own worst critic!

The song receiving the best accolades, no fooling, was Porky Pig's "Blue Christmas."

Were those songs just the crowd favorite, or your favorite as well?

Porky Pig’s “Blue Christmas” was the crowd favorite.  I like it too but my favorite is Mindi Abair’s  “I Can't Wait For Christmas” and B.B. King’s “Merry Christmas Baby” but take note – I’m an old guy.  :)

My favorite was "We three kings" by the Ventures. Which I discovered looking at George Simmons awesome sequences.

I still love Wizards in Winter.  I remember being in awe of Carson's video the first time I saw it.  It's a crowd favorite too.

Hands down it was Anthem Lights version of Do you hear what I hear?

Starts with all strings, builds nicely with a strong kick drum, fantastic vocals during the second chorus, and ends with all strings. One of the two songs I did not edit.

If you listen to it, I bet you use it next year. It's that good.

I also like the songs by Seabird. Good old Christmas classics, but the tune is different. You'll sing along because you know the songs, but you constantly be thinking, "That was cool!"

I spent probably 35 HOURS listening to music this year for the show. Seriously- I would spent 2-4 hours both Saturday and Sunday in Feb. and March looking for the music. For me, the music is the show. When I find something I love, sequencing is easy. I struggled in 2010 as I didn't live my music. I was committed to fixing that in 2011, and I think I was successful.

I have all my songs listed on my site, along with links to the iTunes downloads under my frequent questions section...

Yeah, I agree ... that face is awesome ... and his song choices and sequencing are equally great.

His whole show just takes the traditional show and elements and throws it out the window for FUN, INNOVATIVE
and COLORFUL.
