When I try to follow that link to the strip on ebay, all I get is a "sign in" page?
Just visit the ebay site... (no need to create an account yet or log in) and search for "180644384432"

Hello.

Is it possible to run a strip like this via cat5 from something like an MR16? Or better yet can 5 of them be run from a single controller? What kind of distance can the cat5  runs be between the controller and strip? What about if the strip was split in half?

Thank you kindly in advance from a total beginner.
Despite this being a discussion under the MR16 topic, I have not spent any time to look at MR16 and cannot answer.  I am using a non-DLA controller for my 12v dumb strings -- until RJ's new creation is available.

Can someone else answer?

as far as can i do this, or can i do that...  it depends on a few things

cat 5 cable comes in 2 wires sizes, and also 2 conductor types (stranded, and solid)

the quality of the cable, for far you need to go to the strip.
the electrical specs of the strip, the wire scheme you're using, and voltage drop of the cat5 cable.
To rule the entire tri-state area!  What's that? Perry the Platypus!!!
