led light strings with controllers
« on: January 17, 2012, »
If I understand correctly, the controllers that are used on led lights. that allow them to do random things are 110v in and 12v out . If this is so then can I use a dc control board instead of the little controller that come on the string of lights?

led lights can be a number of things...

you can buy led string that run on 110-120vac
any ac controller can run them, they are 120 in 120 out

you can get led lights that get powered by a dc source (like 5, or 12v)
the 16 channel dc controller can power these, ask a question about them if you're unsure how to hook them up dc in dc out

the smart strings are 12v led strings
they require the smart string active hub, a power supply (computer psu normally) and a smart string controller
To rule the entire tri-state area!  What's that? Perry the Platypus!!!
