Help with down loading Vixen
« on: January 28, 2012, »
So I down loaded Vixen from the Vixen website and I have no idea where it went or how to run the setup!

if you have Vista, or Windows 7, it should be in your downloads folder

Or you can run a search for vixen. If unsure on how to do that then do it the old fashion way and redownload it making sure you look at the file save to location :)

Buck you should create a folder on your desktop to store your blinky-flashy files.

Then when you choose to download a file  you click save and direct the download path to the folder you created .

Hope this helps .

Also when you install vixen it does not create a shortcut on your desktop .

Here is a link to installing vixen , there is a series of  short videos.

I would never store anything critical on my desktop.  Links to those files maybe, but I have repaired to many computers that got corrupted and if windows is reinstalled the desktop contents can get lost.  Windows 7 is better about this problem, but it is still a good habit to put your critical files in a separate folder on another partition or in a folder off your C drive and to backup all those files to another device.   I'm sure that other folks have other opinions, but my experience is what I go by.  I have read lots of posts over the years about people losing all their sequences because of hard drive corruption, so be sure to back them up to another device.

The site shows 2.1.1.0 - How do I go about getting version 3?  I currently use LOR but Vixen seems to be used more here and has a boat load of add-in for items such as the Parralax and Prop controllers that might do well for the Halloween aspect.  Any ideas?

Vixen 3.0 is still in Beta. You can get it here

It is very different, so most of the plugins (modules) for it have not been written yet.

I think most plugins available right now are for vixen 2,1

So I found it and tried to use it but just received error pop-ups. I removed it and tried again, same error pop-ups. I think I'll just open up the wallet and purchase LOR S3-Advance.
