I have all the quotes. However, I have been busy this week getting ready for a trip and I have not had time to calculate the final cost.

I will try to go ahead and get all the payment PMs sent this weekend before I leave. Then, hopefully I will have all the payments by the time I return and can start ordering parts as soon as I get back.

All payment PMs have been sent. If you did not receive one, please PM me.

I would like to start ordering parts as soon as I return from my trip. So, please try to have your payments in by Feb. 20th. If you think you will have a problem paying before then, please PM me and let me know.

Thanks,
Rick

Just so everyone knows. The PICs for this coop will not be programmed and will not contain any software when you receive them.

1. The PICs are surface mount and will be installed on the PCB before I receive them. The board will have to be assembled before the PIC can be programmed.

2. There are multiple versions of the firmware and I have no idea what each person will want to use.

Thanks,
Rick

I picked up the PICkit3 using the MPLABX 20% off coupon.  I don't know how long it's good for however.  I did some searching and this was the best price I found for the PICkit3.

While you could do that but first you would have to build it and if it doesn't work, then you might not be able to flash it.  The mailing expense would be much higher than the average PIC since you would have to mail the entire unit.  If you are going to be using smart strings then you really need a programmer anyway so get the programmer and be ready for the seasons to begin.
If at first you don't succeed,
your not cut out for sky diving

thanx Jeff for the lead on the discount ... very helpful to my budget. I have a question though ... should I get the PICkit 3 Debug Express or the PICkitâ„¢ 3 In-Circuit Programmer?

Also, It looks like the PICkit3 is the only listed programmer.  I think this is because the PIC32 chip on the board requires it.

Just the PICkitâ„¢ 3 In-Circuit Programmer should do and is what I got.  This will connect to the ICSP header.
