Max current through a MR16?

I have read all the MR16 posts and haven't found the answer I am looking for.
For an idea I have, I am wondering what the maximum current per channel / total per 16 channel unit would be?
Think deep ravine, tree branch canopy, car headlights, big battery charger!

Any thoughts?

Do not attempt to control more than 2.5 amps per channel from the MR16 controller.
