I have just now had time to build my Ether Dongles (actually I built them when I first got them but have not had time to try and set them up. Everything seems fine. The green LED is on. I have an ethernet connection (port light is on). I am using LSP 2.0 to test. Thanks to Mickpat I think that I have LSP set up correctly. When I use LSPs hardware test utility, I can see commands going thru the port into the Ether Dongle (port light flashes). The hub and smart string hardware work fine. I was using the USB Dongle flashed with the Pixelnet firmware and everything worked fine. Everything seems to be working, but I have no light control at all. I have followed Mickpat's instructions on setting up LSP and as I say it seems to be working because the port light blinks when I send a command from the software. FYI, I used the EtherDongle2.hex to flash the chip, not the EtherDongle_DMX.hex. Could that be the problem? Any ideas?

An update on my previous post. I built 3 of the Ether Dongles. I just tested the other 2. The first one I tested did not work, but the symptoms were the same (everything seemed to work). The third one works like a champ. So that means that I have everything configured correctly. Now I just have to figure out what is wrong with the first 2.

Jim check all solder joints and for solder bridges on the SMD chips.

I am pretty sure that I found the problem on one of the dongles that won't work. I hate to admit it, but I put the 8 MZ oscillator in wrong. I can't believe that it won't work with a part installed incorrectly (LOL). I can not find the parts list on the Wiki for this. Does anyone know the Mouser part number for the 8 MZ oscillator? I also messed it up while removing it, so I need to order a new one.
