Has there been any updates as to weather xlights will run a LOR animation sequence?? Last information I can find is dated April 2011.

Xlights can also convert the lor to an xlights format which runs much better than the raw lor sequence.

For my ss mega tree, the lor sequence was over 400mb and took a long time to load. After conversion to an xseq file, it starts playing immediately.

Usually xseq is smaller and faster than LOR ... Sometimes not however ... That was a quandary for me ... But main problem was not running LOR controllers in DMX mode which is way faster!

xseq files may not always be smaller (though sometimes they are dramatically smaller), but they always load faster.
