Older dongle
« on: February 09, 2012, »
I have an older dongle. The one without the red and green leds.  Will this one still work with my v.1 wireless, ssr4's and express controllers?

Thank you,
Walter

Ok so the Lynx dongle should work with LOR as a DMX dongle.  But I have not been able to get it to work.  I have a V1 dongle.  Do i have the wrong dongle or am I missing something.

Did you select it in network preferences? does it show up there?

Open sequence editor. Under "edit", select "preferences" then "network preferences" under LOR networks select none, under dmx universes line 1, select lynx protocol. on line 1 where it says adaptor click the drop down and it should show up there when plugged in the computer.
You will see the comm listener open up and you will need to close the sequence editor and re open it in order for it to work.

Since you have not told us what you have tried, here is a couple items to helps us.

1. Did you set the comm speed for the USB port to the dongle to 115K?

Go to end on manual for instructions.

2. What are you connecting to the dongle? Lynx (what), LOR (?), Vixen (?)

3. Do you have the correct FTDI driver installed?

Make sure you read this page: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login  Lynx Dongles use the white/orange & orange/white wires in the cat 5/6 cable where as LOR uses the white/blue blue/white pair so you will need to make an converter/adapter to use the LYNX dongle with LOR equipment.

Ok guys sorry it took so long to get back to y'all, work has been keping me busy.  I got everything to work.  The problem was LOR control panel was not running.  As soon as i opened it worked.

Thank you for all the help guys,
