Probably not... the U2 voltage regulator has a Vmax of 15 volts. The C4 capacitor is rated at 10v but should survive 12 volts also. If you apply 5 or 6 volts what happens?

If you had any servos attached, they are probably toast.
All of the ICs on the board are after the regulator, so they should be fine.

I had one servo attached. Guess I have some spare gears now. Going to try 6 volts shortly, need to get some coffee in me first.

Most servos will work 4-6vdc... I'm running my Hitec using a 5v supply and is working OK.

Not sure if the board is toast or not. Status LED's not displaying. I am getting +6 v at at the servo connects.
Is there a way to test board to see if it is functional?

If you're referring to the green LED as the "status LED", that will only blink if it's receiving DMX or if it's being programmed (depending on the jumper setting for "run"/"prg"). Make sure it's in "run" mode and send some DMX into it and see if you get the green LED showing data present. Be sure to select "wired" or "radio" ("wired" = cat5, "radio" = Ex/Rx wirless) depending on your connection type. This is assuming you've loaded the firmware onto the PIC.

You might want to take a few pictures of the board (both sides) so that we can see if anything was burned by the high current draw of the over voltaged servo.

Seems to me, the logic side of the board should not have been harmed by the 12v DC supply. The regulator can handle a max of 15v. The logic bus should have stayed at 3.3v with no problem.

Seems to me the only thing that could have been harmed was the servos. Although it's possible that they failed in such as way that the 12v may have fed back through the single lines to the PIC outputs. Hard to tell without some more trouble-shooting.

Have you tried to erase the PIC and reload the firmware? That might give an indication as to whether the PIC was damaged.
