RGBSB, What should a new name be?
« on: February 25, 2012, »
There has been some discussion of a new name for RGBSB. I am busy coding, but have enjoyed the creativity people have shown. I feel it is in the best tradition of the DIY community to have people share their ideas,

Here has been the suggestions so far gleaned from the various forumns i post to:

Meighan Tree Pixelizor (MTPXR)            Doityourselfchristmas

PMAGIC
Pixel                     Doityourselfchristmas
Mathematical
Algorithm
Generated
Intelligent
Convertor

ColorWHeel                  Doityourselfchristmas

A unique name like Pixelizor (PZR),          Doityourselfchristmas
Meighan's Machine (M&M),
 or Sean's Incredible Machine of
Baffling Arrangements (SIMBA) may be catchy.

i kind of like the name RGB sequence builder.       Doityourselfchristmas
only other idea i had was RGB EffectsBuilder
would be nice to include your name somehow though.

Great work Sean. I like RGBsb.             Doityourselfchristmas
Aside from spelling out Sequence Builder,
what else would fit?

PixelArt                  LOR

pixelnut        nutty pixel            LOR

RGBSB is fine, the name is not as          LOR
important as the function

PIXIS                     LOR

PIXTURE                     LOR

Pixelbrate                  LOR

Pixilla                     LOR

Pixelmania                  LOR

Pixels R Us                  LOR

Pixel Soldier                  LOR

TripleS (Smart String Sequencer)         DLA Vixen forum

Nutcracker  since it would have some meaning      DLA Vixen forum
 to your family...

RGBCracker                  DLA Vixen forum

RGB Canvas                  DLA Vixen forum

"4S" for SeanSmartStringSequencer         DLA Vixen forum

How about Frost it covers everything         DLA Vixen forum

SmartPix                  DLA Vixen forum
Pixelator

Matrix animator                  DLA Vixen Forum

I have decided on a new name.

Someone in these threads made the comment that why not Nutcracker since it has special meaning to me. The nutcrackers that i built with my sons do have special meaning and since we have Vixen and Grinch, I have decided that the new name of my tool will be Nutcracker: RGB Effects Builder.

I have already created new favicons and released them onto the web page.

thanks everyone for the input.

Now, I need a catchy name for the class that I will give on the Nutcracker software at the Academy.

Excellent choice!!

(Now the admins can consolidate your Vixen and LSP threads into a new  "Nutcracker" grouping.)

I think the title of your class should be "Cracking the nut on Nutcracker" :-)

I don't know why we need another grouping.  This really should be in a thread or two under new projects since that's currently what it is.
If at first you don't succeed,
your not cut out for sky diving

Woohoo!  Excellent choice!  And if you develop any additional tools, it can fall under the Nutcracker Suite.  Unfortunately, we (PK and I) won't be able to make The Academy this year.  I'm sure your class will be a huge success - regardless of the name!

Thanks, I will have a pretty complete users manual by june and i plan on making some vimeo videos of how to use the tool.
