So, I finished my first DLA project - the LE! And I'm very pleased.
I did have one foul-up during assembly, however - in part caused by the build manual and my not reading ahead to assure my understanding. The line;
"There are 16 180 ohm resistors (Brown, Gray, Brown, Gold) along the bottom of the board. "
reads as if the 180ohm resistors should be installed in the very bottom of the board between the triacs and terminals (even though the board's silkscreen notes otherwise.) I dutifully installed the 180ohm resistors in the bottom-most locations on the board only to discover later in the manual that I was supposed to install the 47k resistors there. A bit of desoldering and one lost/replaced resistor later and I was back on track.
Perhaps a slightly better description of the locale of the 180ohm resistors might be in order.
