Help with etherdongle and DMX
« on: April 06, 2012, »
I am looking for a little help with my etherdongle setup.  I built the dongle and flashed the pic, it appears to be connected to the system.  If I run a test sequence in LSP the data light on the ED starts to flash at a different frequency so I think it is working.  I followed MICKPATs instructions to set everything up but I still don't seem to be getting any DMX out of my smart hub.  I have the jumper on the hub set to universe 1 and I ran a cat 5 cable from the DMX out on the hub to the DMX in on the Lynx express.  When I run the test sequence on the express, it doesn't seem to be getting dmx signal.

I put on the jumper to disable wireless and the terminate jumper with no success.  Any ideas?

Do you have both jumpers selecting Pixelnet Universe 1?  2 jumpers are needed to select the pixelnet universe

What firmware did you load into the EtherDongle? Pixelnet or DMX

Did you confirm the Active Hub firmware was loaded?

I did not know I needed both jumpers but I tried that and it did not work.

I have the latest pixelnet firmware loaded onto my ED

I also reloaded the firmware onto the active hub but still no luck.

OK, not sure which change made the difference but I shut it all done and started over and it started working.

Thanks for the quick response!  I was getting worried, now all i need is to get some nodes to check my SSC's
