I have been unable to find any documentation from LSP describing their xml file.
If i am going to make a native msq file for LSP users, i need your help.

Kane, a user on auschristmas gave me some decodes of LSP XML. (You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login)

<TimeInterval eff="1" dat="<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-16"?><ec> <in>1</in> <out>100</out> <rt>0</rt></ec>" gui="{1B0F1B59-7161-4782-B068-98E021A6E048}" in="10" out="100" pos="35280" sin="-1" att="0" bst="-16776961" ben="-16776961" />
Not that this is going to be of much use to you, but I've just loaded up my LSP XML manipulation code, and here's what they correspond to - might be useful to anyone else playing around with this sort of thing. That being said, most likely this will all go out the window with the new version!

eff: type of effect (-1=nothing,1=rampup,2=rampdown,3=on,4=off,5=twinkle)

(NOTE from Sean: My file snippet below as eff="7", so we are missing some from this list)

guid: unique identifier for the effect (no idea why the "eff" isn't sufficient) eg Ramp up is  {1B0F1B59-7161-4782-B068-98E021A6E048}

dat: (I think I was wrong before, as looking over my notes, this might be required) - this also depends on the effect - ramp up is
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-16"?><effectConfig> <intensityIn>1</intensityIn> <intensityOut>100</intensityOut> <rampType>0</rampType></effectConfig>

in, out: intensity (0-100) at start and end. (eg ramp up would be in=10 and out=100)

bst, ben: start and end colour (for rgb channels)

pos:start location of effect (there is no "end" location stored - each effect goes up until the next one, which takes over) To calculate the value for "pos", it's number of seconds multiplied by 88200.

sin: always seems to be "-1"

att: not using in channel XML - used in another part of the XML where the timing highlights are setup (eg if you want a green timing highlight at a certain position, you can set "att" to 9.[/I]

So here is an LSP 2 xml file. LSP users, for me to reverse engineer this file, i need as much help as i can get as to what parts i need to populate.

<--------------- cut here -------------------------------. In the following file, i have already decoded all of the HTML tags back into readable text

Have you ever talked with David at LSP about working this out? He might be willing to give you exactly what your looking for.

Post #6 is where i was asking for some help . This was on april 5th.
The only answers from David are describing new features coming in LSP 3.
I know he is very busy trying to get LSP 3 out by summer.

The xml file format will be different in LSP 3 but it will be backward compliant, if i read his posts correctly.

Looking at the xml file you understand why i dont want to try and reverse engineer this. Lots of work.

Nutcracker: need help with describing an LSP xml file
« Reply #5 on: April 20, 2012, »
Just a thought.

Maybe it's not really needed since LSP already can import from an LOR .lms file .

You can just take the .lms file from nutcracker and import it then cut and paste, right?

Sorry if this is incorrect.

I have committed that i will support both lsp 2 and lsp 3.

Here were davids answer to my questions

Is the current xml format and the future xml format documented anywhere so i could read them?
no
Is it a known issue that the current lms convert routine seems to not bring in the rgbchannel information?
it is not capable of importing the new lor files yet.

When importing the lms files they all came in as separate channels?
that is functioning as designed.

Is there a shortcut method of producing data (like vixen has) where you put the rgb data into a plain text file (no xml)?
not at this time.

The users of Nutcracker (almost 300 now), have been asking when i will produce a file for LSP.
I have now asked on the DIYC forum for anyone who can help m reverse engineer the xml file. Do you have any documentation that would help produce a msq file for LSP?
not at this time.
[/b]

If Kane builds a tool that will import nutcracker data and insert it into a msq sequence, we would have a great solution.

I think i need to continue to look to produce a msq file, this is really complicated as compared to lor and vixen.

lsp files have the advantage that they store the rgb value, not 3 channels or R,G,B. They have lots of options of fading from the start fo a frame to the end. The opposite side is that the files are much larger than lor or vixen, I will probably have to just try different parts of the xml and see what i can get to work.

We can hope Kane builds his tool ....
