does anyone have photos of the an aether2 wireless build?

there are some threads for doing this... but are there recommended writeups that are close to "manual quality"?

finally, how does an integrated aether2/wireless solution compare wrt distance and reception?

i'm debating doing an integrated solution, vs using an external RX/TX box.  anyone have some thoughts on this?

I was unaware of any "integrated" wireless option for the AetherII.

You can do the same on the Aether II you use the plug like on the SSR4.

RJ

Not having worked with SSR4s, nor wireless on SSR4s -- and not seeing the wireless mod described in the SSR4 manual... I hoped that someone had taken off on this idea and might have AetherII-specific details on how this is done.

...maybe RJ was talking about the TX/RX option and not the EX/RX...?

I believe that the reason that it has not been done is due to the heatsink in the AetherII not giving enough room for the wireless board to fit like it does in the origional Aether where the main board itself is th heatsink.

Steve, I stumbled upon this. I think this is what you are looking for. I might give it a shot myself, I just don't have any wireless hardware yet.

Thanks, that will be a great help.
Let me know how/where you solve the mounting issues.

Here are pics of a couple I just put together. The wireless add-ons will not be exposed to the elements so I just used some coro put together with hot glue.

Nice, Paul!

Sometimes I worry that it all needs to look "perfect", but you've shown that "practical" can be as good -- if not better.

Alright alright i'll go ahead and paint them  ;D

Thought I would throw my $0.02 in on this.  What I did was a modification of the Aether 1.  The EX is on top and just the wires run inside.  There may be a better way, but this is what I am doing.  I may wind up eliminating the tape sticking the angle to the case and instead attach it with a nut and bolt.  This would allow me to rotate the receiver to get maximum signal exposure.
