Nutcracker: New Effect, color wash
« on: August 10, 2012, »
Some requests were for more simple effects. One was being able to just set the tree to a color.
My version is the tree will cycle from your start color to your end color over the seq_duration.

Here is Going from a blue and then going to a black.

Effect Settings
username   f
user_target   AA
effect_class   color_wash
effect_name   COLOR_WASH1
window_degrees   180
start_color   #0000FF
end_color   #000024
frame_delay   100
sparkles   0
sparkle_count   0
show_frame   n
seq_duration   9
fade_in   0
fade_out   0
submit   Submit Form to create your effect
OBJECT_NAME   color_wash

The gif here is going too fast, if pasted it will show correctly (One more thing to debug)

I wrote a different way of doing sparkles on this effect, they fade in and out. The speed they flash is adjustable also.
Effect Settings
username   f
user_target   AA
effect_class   color_wash
effect_name   COLOR_WASH2
window_degrees   180
start_color   #0000FF
end_color   #000024
frame_delay   100
sparkles   30
sparkle_count   20

show_frame   n
seq_duration   9
fade_in   0
fade_out   0
submit   Submit Form to create your effect
OBJECT_NAME   color_wash

Finally of the start and end color have a different hue, then i will blend them over the length for your seq_duration. I would keep the start and end colors darkened if you are using sparkles.

Effect Settings
username   f
user_target   AA
effect_class   color_wash
effect_name   COLOR_WASH3
window_degrees   180
start_color   #00008F
end_color   #00400B
frame_delay   100
sparkles   30
sparkle_count   20
show_frame   n
seq_duration   9
fade_in   0
fade_out   0
submit   Submit Form to create your effect
OBJECT_NAME   color_wash

In the image you just posted, it looks like you have a bulb out in the middle string, 11th up from the bottom...

the "bulb" is only out in the gif file. it has to do how i set the viewpoint when i created the gif.

the actual animation you use will not be missing a "bulb"
