Express, Universes and Etherdongle
« on: September 04, 2012, »
I just want to make sure I have this correct.....

I have an Etherdongle flashed with the DMX firmware, so it is outputting 4 universes (2048 channels) of DMX.
I have a combiner (in reverse) splitting the 4 universes out to 4 different CAT5 cables.
I have Vixen setup with 2048 channels and some test stuff using the EtherDongle plugin, also set for channels 1-2048.
I have 4 expresses all set to channel 1, each connected to a different port on the combiner (so each should be getting a different universe).

ControllerController Start ChannelCombiner "Port"Vixen Start Channel
Express #1111
Express #212513
Express #3131025
Express #4141537

I think that is correct, but wanted to make sure (I'll be testing this tonight and will know for sure, but in case I was wrong wanted someone to set me straight). :)

So the table formatting was not what I expected:
Controller: Express #
Controller Start Channel: 1
Combiner "Port": 1
Vixen Start Channel: 1

Controller: Express #2
Controller Start Channel: 1
Combiner "Port": 2
Vixen Start Channel: 513

Controller: Express #3
Controller Start Channel: 1
Combiner "Port": 3
Vixen Start Channel: 1025

Controller: Express #4
Controller Start Channel: 1
Combiner "Port":4
Vixen Start Channel: 1537
