i'm giving it a break tonight i have grandbabys at the house will try so more tomorrow will try xlights see if anything gets better
ps i have tried this on three different pc's some connected directly with swap cable
some connected to network via dlink router with multicast capability
it is begging to give me a headache
i will check tread tomorrow

Have +5VDC  on Pin 5 and Pin 8  RS485.  No power there could possibly be a bad DC to DC converter

Can you post a picture of the small chip with a light behind the board?  It is tough to focus but might shed some light on things.  Bad pun!

i can't post any more photos i've sent the board to have someone look at it and see if they can spot the problem

It must be a software setup issue as I have it running a show outputting DMX fine on my bench out of the box.

I have since built two and have them running with LOR S3 3.8 and Windows XP and switch.  Been running for days.  I switch them every few days and they keep ticking. If the unit works for RJ it must be a how LOR is configured,  cat5 cable or the PC.  I had to use a regular cat 5 cable as a crossover would not even work.

Hopefully something here helps.
