would this be a option for moving the programing header and hard wiring it to etherdongle
so we would not have to pull out of case everytime we want to reflash pic

see attached photo for designers consideration
see yellow circles on photo

To me, the real question is why?  How often do you think that you are going to need to reflash that PIC?

There are no plans to do so. It takes a few seconds to undo the 4 screws and pull it from the box if you need to reflash it.

If you are going to reflash it for use as an Etherdongle again, then you would also probably be taking the Conductor daughter card off of it as well and once the Conductor is removed, the ICSP header is once again exposed.  I'm not trying to get on your case but with the few times that it would be reflashed in a real world situation, I personally would rather see RJ spend his time working on new toys and having some time to do some things for himself.

Not suggesting you do this but you could solder a ribbon cable to the iscp header and hook the PICKit to that.  If you bought your PICKit 3 from J1Sys with all of the ZIF boards then you have the exact cable you would need.  Simply hide it in the box when not in use.

Sounds like a solution looking for a problem to me.
