Strange flicker during sequence

Hello, I am trying to figure out why my smart strings are flickering off every second or so for a split second and then continuing to run my sequence.

I created the sequence with nutcracker and loaded the file into vixen. Everthing looks right except that every second or so the lights flicker as the sequence is running. I have looked over the nutcracker files output on my timeline and it does not correspond to the lights turning off for a split second as the timeline shows that the lights should in fact be on. Any ideas as to what is causing this? I really need to get these sequences going asap.

What is your hardware configuration?

Distance from SSC to your string

How is your addressing structured?

Are you running pixels, rectangles, strips etc.

Etc.

I am using the etherdongle with vixen. My lead length from SSC to the lights is less than 2 feet. I have a 6 foot cat5 from the active hub to the ssc. Everything seems to be working properly except for the random blinks. as far as addressing I believe its correct as the ssc is showing the data correctly, everything is working properly except for the fact that it randomly goes out for a split second and then continues with the sequence.

try creating other effects, especially butterfly, garlands and meteors


if it is happening on all 4 , then i suspect hardware.

if it is only happening on spirals, then it is the nutcracker. At the end of each spiral there is a jump or flicker. This is a known bug i hope to chase down in the next week

I am using a v1 ssc. I havnt gotten around to building my version 2's. I can verify that it is not a problem with the sequencer having an empty column. the sequence looks correct. I will build and sscv2 later tonight and see if its something simple. I didn't build the sscv1 but I find it weird that everything is working properly other than the  flicker. as in all of the chases are working properly and i have tested numerous nutcracker files. rainbows, chases, you name it. It has to be hardware related the more I think about it. I will try and post a video of it if I can tonight.

Ok, I feel like I am taking crazy pills. I just retried the sequences and they are all working flawlessly. I am dumbfounded. I didn't change a thing and now everything is working.

I had a similar problem with square nodes.  SCC V2 fixed it.

The sscs are in a state of flux right now. The v1, v2, and v3mod all have minor issues. The v3 mod was pulled until RJ has taken a little break...

The v1 does better by replacing the 330 ohm resistor with 150 or 180 ohm resistor (I had very little trouble with this config)
The v2 worked better for some, but I think the 47 ohm resistor (same position as the resistor above) causes as much trouble as the 330 ohm resistor on the original v1. There are other hardware differences, so the v1 and v2 are not firmware compatible.
The v3 mod works for both v1 and v2, but it was pulled for now.
Standby for the v4 mod and firmware. Very similar to the v3 mod, but will use a different pin on the pic to drive the output.
