pic programming issues
« on: October 19, 2012, »
I just built a mr16 and i cannot get this chis to program. I downloaded the firmware from the wiki page for the mr16, and have tried pic kit 2 and 3.  I can plug a pic18f1220 from a ssr4 and it can read it and write back on the chip, but when i plug in the pic18f1220 for the mr16 and load the .hex file i get an error. Th error says "programming failed at EE Data address oxoo12.  I mean i am not nw to this, but i do not know if its the chip or the .hex file not working.

well i thought hmmm i wonder, i pluged the chip for the mr`6 into the programming dock and loaded up the ssr4 .hex and the chip programed.

So something is messing up with the .hex file for the mr16.

try redownloading the file, or even saving it in a new spot, and try again

hmm well it worked when i programed it from my laptop.  I dunno what is up with that, i am not a computer nerd, so i dunno why my show computer is not wanting to program it.

Are they using the same hex file?  Did you reboot the machine that was having issues?  Sometimes it is as simple as that.
If at first you don't succeed,

I may just have to erase it off the show computer, i dunno. I got the mr16 up and working now, i just has some joints that was not soldered as well as what i had thought. luckily i know how to diagnose boards and check all of the connections with a meter.
