Tester Display Problem
« on: October 31, 2012, »
Using my tester last night to make sure everything is set for the Halloween show, and I noticed that the first digit in the display isn't lighting up correctly.  The lower right portion of the number (the bottom of a 1 or a 4) isn't showing and occassionally some of the others that aren't supposed to be on are on, but very dim.  The tester seems to work just fine, the display just doesn't want to work.  Not sure if the display is broken or something else.  Any ideas how to fix this without desoldering a bunch of stuff?

Has it ever displayed properly?
I remember something about a low battery indicator but I don't remember what it was.
Maybe one of our members with a better memory can remember.

I worked fine when I first built it, which was right after the coop.  Been sitting around ever since.  Don't think I dropped it or anything.  But might be using low batteries.  I thought they were new, but you never know.

I would swap out the batteries first.  I used lithium batts in mine
