Solder

Thin stuff, thick stuff, big roll, little roll..... confused - join the club.

For most of the soldering you will do with the Coop based PCB's in the blinky blinky world some nice thin solder will be needed. Thin solder 0.7mm in metric terms

How much? Well a 250gm (1/2lb) spool will get you going and last quite a long time for most people. The last lot of solder this writer bought was in 100gm spools that were on special and we have soldered thousands of holes and have used maybe 10% off a 100gm roll.

What RJ recommends (Text taking from his Lynx Manual)

"You need solder so buy some. I recommend .032 size as the larger sizes tend to cause you to put too much solder on. How much? Go ahead and get a 1 lb spool as it’s cheaper in large volume and you will go through it faster than you think. Make sure you are getting rosin core for electronics they make some solder for plumbing that has acid as the core this is a bad mistake to make."
