Here is a test with 31 nodes per section of the ws2811 technicolor pixels.

LoginThe top section is 1 group and 93 channels, middle is 2 groups and 48 channels, and bottom is 3 groups and 33 channels. Only when it slows down do I see much difference. I am using loops in LOR S3 with 10% lower speed per pass and 5 loops per. The test animation starts and ends with 1 RGB channel lit white and you can see with the grouping they are 1,2 and 3 nodes lit up.
I am planning on putting these on my gutter lines and am thinking of 2 groups to keep the channel count down.
Other then color assignment, these new pixels work well with SSC v4. The new SS utility that is to be released with Zeus will take care of correcting the color assignment.
I zipped tied the pixels to 1/2 x 3/4 aluminum angle and they easy to install with screws. The 31 node sections are the longest at 14' per. The long ones are a little flimsy with the added weight and added holes for the zip ties and mounting holes but manageable.
Thought this be helpful info to share.
