Mini Trees

If you have used Tomato cages to make mini trees, how many lights have you used on each one. I have put 100 on one and it looks bare.

Photo's would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

If using 5mm leds 100  of each color looks okay. Incandescent usually need more.

I used floral easels and put 3 100ct strings on them (3 colors).  Be sure to look at them at night in the dark and lit up.  They probably will look just fine.

I used 200 of each color on each of my cages -3 colors.  I replaced them this year with 100 node dumb strings.  The tree looks bare in the light but looks great when it is lit up.

kjam...can you take some pics at night?  I thought about doing that this year, but opted out, but might make plans for next year.  Kinda sad that I'm already planning for 2013 when I haven't finished putting lights up for 2012.  This is becoming a habit....

1200 minis.  4 strings of each color for the working ones.  Those that have had issues there may be 14 strings, some working and some not.  ;D

Mine are the 42" cages.  The thing to remember when you get 900-1200 per tree is that the lights are "weaved" and not wrapped.  You have to work each string in  so all the lights face outward.  I first tried the wrap method and they looked like "    ", you will in the blank.  After weaving in each string they looked gorgeous and very neat.  The lights also point outwards so they look very good when lit.

I guess it's just my perfectionist personality.  Unfortunately mine are on there last year so I will have to redo them next year and I dread it because I have 31 and each one takes about 1.5 hours to build.  That's 372 strings of minis or a combination of minis and LED's.
