testing the new Express

So i need to have a plug on each side of the express to power it correct?

No you can put the jumper in on the board to build it as a single input (20 amp max) setup and it will only require a power cord on the left side. It shows how to do this in the manual here in appendix A

One more question, The 16 small chips right below the LEDS don't have a notch, does it matter which way these go in to the holder?

They have a dot over the #1 pin. This should be on the end where the notch shows on the pcb.

Not sure where you got the LE but if the 7-segment display lights up and goes though its routine when you power up the left side of the LE then you are good to go.

btw: The Lynx hardware uses PIC not PROM :) its a brain so way more useful them a piece of read only memory.

this is one i got from the coop, so im thinking the PIC isnt programmed yet

If it's from the co-op that Kurt just ran, then it's definitely programmed.  Mine was.

All the PICs were pre-programmed with the latest version of the firmware on the PIC from the COOP I just ran.
