Does anyone know of a solvent that will remove the plastic coating from the smart string nodes. I've got a clear plastic star that I would like replace the led string in it with a smartstring, but the rubberized plastic coating makes the nodes just a little bit too thick. I think if I had a way to easily remove the material without damaging the wiring that the bare nodes would fit.
Once they are in the star, I know I'd have to seal it up to make sure water doesn't get in or put some kind of coating on the little boards.
I have both the original IP66 nodes (not quite water proof) and some of the new ones.
Thanks!!
